U.S. and International Trademark Services
Our firm offers full trademark search and protection services. Trademark recognition is essential for a company to remain competitive. However, it is also important for a company to avoid infringing the trademark and trade-name rights of other businesses. We provide a complete line of trademark, company name and corporate name searches. These types of searches are essential in determining whether another business has superior rights in a selected trademark, company name or corporate name.

Note that our services are provided directly by licensed attorneys. Some of service providers on the Internet use clerks, administrative or office personnel. We believe that these matters are sufficiently important to warrant the attention of an experienced licensed professional.

A trademark attorney will (i) determine which search is most appropriate for a client's particular situation, (ii) evaluate the search results, and (iii) provide a written opinion as to whether a particular trademark or name is clear for use.

Once it is determined that a particular trademark is clear for use, we can then proceed to obtain a U.S. trademark registration for that trademark. A U.S. trademark registration provides nationwide rights to use the trademark and prevent other parties from using the same or confusingly similar trademark with the same or closely related goods or services.
We will generally provide the following domestic trademark services at the stated fees*:

Nationwide Corporate Name Search $700
Direct Hit Screening Search (up to 5 marks; Federal register; Includes writtenopinion by a trademark attorney) $275
Basic U.S. Full Availability Search (Federal, state, basic common law, company name and Internet domain; Includes written opinion prepared by a trademark attorney) $800
Extensive U.S. Full Availability Search (Federal, state, extensive common law, Company name and Internet domain; Includes written opinion prepared by a trademark attorney) $1000
Design/Logo Search (Per class; federal register only; Includes written opinion prepared by a trademark attorney) $750
Prepare and File U.S. Trademark Application (Per class) ** $750
Response to Office Actions issued by the US Patent Trademark Office will be invoiced on a time expended basis plus any additional fees invoiced by the US Patent and Trademark Office. $275 / hour

* Overnight Courier and Postage Fees are added to the amounts indicated.
** Including the US Patent and Trademark Office filing fee of $325 per class.

Our fees for preparing and filing a U.S. Trademark Application include the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office filing fee of $325 per class. If difficulties arise during prosecution of the trademark application or if a third party files an opposition to registration of the trademark, we will provide the necessary legal services at an hourly rate. We will provide written estimates of the costs involved in addressing the particular issues at hand before we take any action.

Our firm also offers international trademark services for those clients requiring trademark protection in particular foreign countries. We would be pleased to provide clients with cost estimates for obtaining trademark protection in foreign countries of interest.

Tax Implications for Offshore Trusts

By now, you are familiar with the key concepts underscoring the need for asset protection. You know that there are many entities and structures that can be used to strengthen your defenses against creditors' attacks or, even better, reduce the likelihood of claims being raised at all. Indeed, offshore entities can provide significantly greater deterrence to creditors than their domestic counterparts. However, there is one creditor whose claim to your assets cannot be deterred and is inevitable: the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

And while you know that certain domestic asset protection entities come with tax savings or tax liabilities, you might be inclined to believe that offshore entities immunize your assets from tax cons...
